“THE CONCEPT OF MAYA” – Arjun’s Awakening
In the midst of the epic Mahabharata war, on the sacred battlefield of Kurukshetra, Arjuna found himself gripped by confusion and despair. Sensing his dear friend’s turmoil, Lord Krishna began to unravel the mysteries of existence in the divine discourse known as the Bhagavad Gita.
“Arjuna,” Krishna said, “life is but a dream woven into the fabric of Maya, the great illusion. Our dreams are not just figments of our imagination, but glimpses into alternate realities. Each soul, through countless lives and dreams, experiences an endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.”
Krishna continued, “Every moment you live is a reflection of your inner consciousness. What you perceive as reality is merely a shadow cast by the infinite possibilities of your soul’s journey. In the realm of Maya, the physical world is transient and ever-changing, while the true essence of the soul remains untouched and eternal.”
“Just as you dream when you sleep, living various lives, each with its own story and significance, so too does the soul dream through lifetimes. This cycle is driven by Karma, the fruits of your actions, shaping your reality across different existences.”
“Understand this, Arjuna: to awaken from the dream of Maya, one must seek self-realization and transcend the illusion. By surrendering to the divine and embracing Dharma, you can pierce through the veil of illusion and connect with the ultimate truth.”
In that moment, Arjuna’s vision cleared. He understood that life was more than the physical struggles before him. It was a journey through realms of existence, a dance of dreams and realities, all leading towards the ultimate union with the divine.
Krishna’s words echo through time, reminding us that our dreams are pathways to alternate realities, part of the grand cosmic play of Maya.
